One Off Workshops

One off workshops are offered for a more in depth look at a particular subject or technique. For example, Paper Stencilling and Sgraffito or Throwing Jugs etc.

Hand-building Taster Workshop - £65

Saturday 9th May, 14:00-17:00

This will be 3 hour taster session on a Saturday afternoon, a laid back, slow pace, fun workshop. 

In this workshop we will cover slab-building, and press moulding with decorative processes including using textures and monoprinting with colours.

Price includes materials, firing and glazing as well as refreshments.

Short Courses

We offer a variety of more focused short courses. These can range from courses looking at more handbuilt and decorative techniques or particular skill levels in throwing.

Beginners Throwing Course - £312

Fridays 13:00 - 16:00

Four week course starting Friday 27th February - Friday 20th March inclusive.

Over the 4-week course you will have an opportunity to try your hand at : Throwing cylinders – (for mugs etc.), Throwing more open forms – (for bowls), Creating handles and lips (for pouring). The course will also allow you the opportunity for turning your finished pots - (finishing and neatening). Come the end of your course there will be an introduction on glazing and basic colour. There will also be an opportunity to come for an extra paid session to complete the glazing of all your work. Your finished pots at the end of the course will be fired in house at no extra charge and will be ready for collection approximately 1 month later. All materials and firing costs included.

Solo Practice Throwing Course - £336

Fridays 10:00 - 13:00

Six week course starting Friday 5th June - Friday 10th July 

This course consists of a six week program of 3 hours a week where the first hour is taught and the last 2 hours is for you to practice what has been discussed and demonstrated with Jo. This course would be a way to progress and have time to practice skills within a fully equipped studio and alongside other potters in a supportive environment. At the end of the course an extra session can be organised for glazing all of the finished ware when it is bisque fired. The price includes full access to all the studio materials and the firing of 12 pots that you have made throughout the course. You do have an opportunity to fire more pots at an extra cost if you can’t part with them.
